Today’s man looks groomed. Where our fathers used to leave their wild body hair, many men nowadays tend to shave it off. It looks neat, but at the same time you may wonder if in doing so you are also shaving away your masculinity. Let it be clear that men today keep body hair neatly trimmed. This is the new norm, but does this mean we should also smooth our armpits?

Shaving Means Less Unpleasant Odors

Longer armpit hairs are more likely to cause perspiration. Sweat then sticks in those long armpit hairs of yours, making unpleasant aromas inevitable at some point. I’m sure most men would agree that this is anything but desirable. Just shave off those armpit hairs then?

Shave Them Off, Then?

Well, your underarm skin is quite sensitive as it is for most men. Especially in the summer months, it can get quite florid there, creating the perfect conditions for bacteria. Because the skin is sensitive, it gets irritated quickly. This, combined with the bacteria that have free rein, and in no time you have an inflammation or a boil on your hands.

Should you still want to go for a smooth result, know this: using a body groomer helps reduce skin irritation. It uses special round blades that reduce irritation. Do wet those armpit hairs a bit with lukewarm water before you start grooming! Avoid using a razor.

Conclusion: Trimming Is The Way To Go!

You get the least resistance when trimming. This way you avoid long armpit hairs sticking out from under your armpits and still look groomed and masculine. Trim your armpit hairs with a regular trimmer or even better, with a body groomer. A regular beard trimmer is a bit sharper so requires more precision than a body groomer.
